American Legionnaires:
To be eligible for The American Legion, you must have served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces, and your service must have occurred during a congressionally designated period of war, which has been expanded to include all service since December 7, 1941, to the present. This means current active-duty military members, veterans with an honorable discharge, and those on active duty or honorably discharged National Guard and Reserve members are generally eligible.
